We are THRILLED to announce that we are back to baking!!! THANK you for all of the outpouring of love and support we’ve received over the past few days, it’s been a big slice of humble pie! For those of you following our permitting drama, we are happy to say that we made the minor construction changes that were required for our permits and we are cleared to go. We are thankful the Department of Building and safety and the Health Department worked very closely and quickly with us so now 65 employees can get back to work! We started baking again so we can have pie by later today!
A HUGE thank you thank you thank you goes out to Mike Alvidrez and Brad Robinson with Skid Row Housing Trust who worked along side Marc Trotz, the Director of LA County’s Housing for Health, on our behalf. Without them, this would not have been possible. To all our partners, and supporters who worked very hard to make calls on our behalf to get us up and running as quickly as possible. We are honored to know all of you, especially the customers who made calls on our behalf!. Please check out www.skidrow.org to know more about some of the angels that helped us through.
Again, we apologize for anyone who was inconvenienced or disappointed by the absence of pie this past week. It is amazing how quickly a small change in building code can become a harrowing experience for a small, family run business like ours. The most important thing now is we can get back to making…..
HAPPINESS, ONE SLICE AT A TIME!!!
